Note : (a) P. Amaradasa took his first wicket in last ball of
his 20th over. In his 21st Over he dismissed Muttuwegama (3rd
ball) and Perera (4th ball). Giving him 3 Wickets in 5 balls. He
bowled 20.4 overs. Later Amaradasa was known as A. Ratnapala
(Dr.)

Note : (b) A. R. Gunasekera had taken his 1st wicket (wicket of
A. Jayasekera) in the 1st ball of his 2nd over. In the 1st ball
of his 3rd over he dismissed D. L. de Saram and was on a
hat-trick. In the 3rd ball he dismissed J. D. Bandaranayake.
This gives him 3 wickets in 4 balls. After the completion of his
1st five overs, his figure were 5-4-1-5. S. Thomas' were 56 for
no loss in 32 minutes when A. R. Gunasekera came to bowl. After
his 1st 5 overs S. Thomas' were 57 for 6 in 65 minutes of
batting. (In the last 33 minutes only 1 run was scored for the
loss of 6 wickets). At this stage the Royal flag on top of the
score board at the Oval was taken down ana was burnt by some
unruly old boys of a certain College.
